Weekly Magdalena 12

What a week for a baby! Many firsts! On 11/3, you rolled from your back to your tummy for the first time. I was playing with you on the floor and you were on your back. I was tempting you with a toy just out of your reach and you were reaching for it and squealing. To actually get the toy, you needed to roll over. Then Beren fell and I had to go get him. You yelled at me as if to say, “Hey! My toy! Get back here!” When it became clear that it would be seconds or possibly even a minute before I could tend you again, you just flipped over and got your toy. You did it so quickly and effortlessly that it looked like you probably had the ability to do that for a while, but you chose not to.
Since both Beren’s exersaucers tragically succumbed to mold, we borrowed Lily’s exersaucer for you to play with. You love it! You saw it and instantly knew it was something for you. You kicked and wiggled in anticipation until I got you installed in it. This will be a great toy for you.
You tried bananas for the first time on 11/8. You seemed happy to be eating, but I don’t think you were all that impressed with the bananas. You enjoyed making a mess.
You were in the Bumbo on the table while Beren was playing with Play Doh. I was doing things in the vicinity and Beren casually told me, “Sister’s eating Play Doh.” And you were. Mmmm, purple Play Doh.
You got to go to a party for Kaiden’s birthday this weekend. You had a nice time and you just can’t wait to be one of the big kids.
You have started putting pooets on my arm. It’s really funny! You also have started doing raspberries.
You are to the point where you want to get down on the ground and go, even though you don’t have the ability. When I put you on my lap, you straighten your body out so that you start sliding to the floor. I know you think you’ll just float down there and start walking, but I’m not convinced that is what will happen. You got yourself most of the way out of one of your chairs the other day. You want to go!
Hopefully you didn’t traumatize Barb (a very pregnant mom-to-be) when she changed your diaper. You screamed the whole time to give her a challenge.
You went on a trip to visit Daddy in the city where we’ll be living. You did pretty good on the long car ride, all things considered.
Your brother’s been giving you some hugs and kisses! He even held you one time this week! Your baby charms even work on a toddler!
Love, Mommy

one of the things i like about your blog megan is that i can practically hear you saying what you have written like a voice over in a movie. your writing just sounds natural.

haha! I can’t remember if it was you or Jody who said something very similar about the directions I wrote out for Beren’s first (or second?) birthday. I think it was the line in the directions, “You are now in Pennsylvania!” that did it…
