Burning the oranges

We’ve been eating oranges, AKA anti-scurvy balls.  Did you know the mist that comes out of the orange peel is flamable?  We did!  Look how my new digital camera caught the action:

Get ready to make fire.

Add orange peel.

Squeeze peel at fire and watch the burst!

    All this camera talk is making me want to take some creative photos too! Does Beren enjoy the photos too? We checked out a great book from the library today about pumpkins and rather than illustrations, it has photos. I thought what fun it would be to make some little books ourselves! We could take photos, create a story, and the kids could help us “embellish.” Rather than print the photos on photo paper, we could just print them on regular paper on my printer!

    I am thinking of doing the seeds this spring again, just like the pumpkin book, and maybe also something starting the Playmobil people, or, LARRY!
